The Bamberg Cathedral (German: Bamberger Dom, official name Bamberger Dom St. Peter und St. Georg) is one of the best-known architectural monuments in Germany and has been Bamberg’s most famous landmark since its completion in the 13th century. The cathedral is under the administration of the Roman Catholic Church and is the seat of the Archbishop of Bamberg.
The cathedral is a late Romanesque building with four imposing towers. It was founded in 1004 by the emperor Henry II, finished in 1012 and consecrated on May 6, 1012. It was later partially destroyed by fire in 1081. The new cathedral, built by St. Otto of Bamberg, was consecrated in 1111, and in the 13th century received its present late-Romanesque form.
The cathedral is about 94 m long, 28 m broad, 26 m high, and the four towers are each about 81 m high. Of its many works of art may be mentioned the magnificent marble tomb of the founder and his wife, the empress Cunigunde, considered the masterpiece of the sculptor Tilman Riemenschneider, and carved between 1499 and 1513.
Another treasure of the cathedral is an equestrian statue known as the Bamberg Horseman (German: Der Bamberger Reiter). This statue, possibly depicting the Hungarian king Stephen I., most likely dates approximately from 1225 to 1237.

The New Residence Multi-blade is a listed building on Cathedral Square in the Upper Franconian Bamberg. It was the former residence of Bamberg prince-bishops. Today the complex houses Sandstone the State Library and the National Gallery of Bamberg.
From Rosengarten New Residence has a view of St Michael's and the roofs of the city citizens.
The new residence was built with its four wings and divided into two stages.
First, under the Prince Bishop Johann Philipp von Gebsattel From 1602, the rear part in the two-leaf Renaissance built. It was then under Prince-Bishop Lothar Franz von Schönborn using Leonhard Dientzenhofer constructed from 1697 to 1703, the front part baroque. From 1803 she was a royal residence.

That Old Town Hall in Bamberg is one of the most important buildings in the historic Downtown shapes.
That Landmark symbolizes the power line from an earlier period between the episcopal city of Bamberg and the bourgeois. It is in the river Regnitz built and the Upper and Lower Bridge (originally a private bridge) keep away from him. Inside that belongs to the museums of the city of Bamberg Ludwig Collection is on display, one of the largest collections of porcelain in Europe.
The town hall was first mentioned in 1387 and renovated in the period 1461 to 1467 and actually rebuilt, so it took the form known today. In this phase, it was mainly influenced by the Gothic.
Johann Jakob Michael Kuchel however, designed the City Hall in the years 1744 to 1756 in the style of the Baroque and Rococo um. Are worth mentioning in 1755 by John Anwander created murals. Both sides of the building is complete with allegorical scenes and architectural details, the typical illusion of painting in this period, decorated. Small, indeed figurative elements designed to reinforce the eastern side of the spatial impression.
